Riederalp  

The car-free village of Riederalp in the Oberwallis lies high over the still young river Rhone on a wide, south-facing sunny terrace at an altitude of 2000 metres above sea level. In December 2001 the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn region was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Riederalp is part of this breathtaking region, which was the first in the Alps to be declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
